Why $12, and why only once
It costs less than the print does. That is the frame we chose it in: the file is the cheap part of a week that is expensive from every other direction, and a portrait for the service should not be a decision you have to weigh.
There is no subscription, and that is structural rather than a stage this site will grow out of. You need this once. Selling a recurring charge to somebody with a single job to do means selling them something they will have to remember to cancel while they are grieving, and no amount of revenue makes that a reasonable thing to build.

Before you buy
- Why is the print-size check free?
- Because being told that the only photograph you have is too small to print is not something anyone should have to pay to find out. Charging for bad news is the actual gouge. The check is free, it is measured on the real pixels in your file, and it stays free.
- What does it cover?
- Everything for the one photograph you bought it for: every frame size, every crop, full resolution and the whole ZIP. There is no per-size unlock and no higher tier.
- Is the enlargement included, or is it extra?
- Included, like everything else for that photograph. What is worth knowing before you pay: An enlargement buys roughly one more size than the photograph could manage on its own, and the result is softer than a file that was that size to start with — usable, not miraculous. It cannot add detail the camera never captured, and it will not rebuild a face. You can run it and look at the before-and-after on the free, watermarked version first.
- Is there an account to create?
- No. Paying unlocks that photograph in the browser you paid in. The watermark comes off within a few seconds, and there is no account, password or license key to keep. The payment is tied to that exact file, so a re-saved or re-downloaded copy of the same picture counts as a different photograph. To use the clean files on another computer, download the ZIP where you paid and copy it across.
- What if we need a second photograph done?
- That is a second purchase. A pass is bound to the file it was bought for, which is what keeps the price at one figure rather than a subscription — but it does mean two portraits are two payments. If you are preparing several and that is a problem, get in touch and say so.
